Helmet

This beautiful helmet comes from the 16th century.

It was made not only to protect a warrior’s head. It was also made to show power, wealth, and fine taste.

Look at its rich decoration. It is set with rubies and turquoise. Rubies are deep red stones. Turquoise is a bright blue-green stone.

The surface is also covered with flower shapes. These soft flower designs make the hard metal look graceful and alive.

The helmet is a rare example of ornamental inlaying. This means that small pieces of precious material were carefully placed into the surface. It was slow work. It needed very skilled hands.

So this helmet is more than a piece of armor. It is also a work of art from the 16th century.
