The Arzhane section holds sacred relics of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

A relic is a special object kept with great care because it is linked to a holy person. For Muslims, these objects are very dear.

Here, there are small pieces of the Prophet Muhammad’s tooth. They were broken in the Battle of Uhud.

There are also swords that belonged to him.

His bow is kept here too.

Another sacred object is his footwear. In Ottoman Turkish, it is called Nalın-ı Saadet, meaning “the Blessed Sandals.”

There are also hairs from his beard. These are called Sakal-ı Şerif, meaning “the Holy Beard.”

A letter linked to him is kept here as well. It is called Name-i Saadet, meaning “the Blessed Letter.”

There are also holy footprints. They are called Kadem-i Şerif, meaning “the Holy Footprint.”

One stone shows the mark of the sole of his right foot. It is linked to the Miraj, the night journey and rising to heaven in Islamic belief.

These relics were kept with deep respect in the palace. They remind many people of love, faith, and memory.
