Sofa Pavilion
The Sofa Pavilion is a small wooden palace building in the garden.
It is also known as the Pavilion of Mustafa Pasha. A pasha was an important man in the Ottoman state.
This pavilion looks a little like the old wooden houses by the Bosphorus. These houses stood near the water and were made for comfort and beauty.
The Sofa Pavilion has rich wooden carvings. These fine decorations show the taste of the 18th century. At that time, Ottoman builders loved graceful woodwork and calm garden spaces.
One side of the pavilion faces the garden. The other side faces the sea. It was a place made for quiet rest, fresh air, and beautiful views.
